What is DSC & How does it work?


A digital certificate is an electronic document issued by a Certificate Authority (CA). It contains the public key for a digital signature and specifies the identity associated with the key, such as the name of an organization. The certificate is used to confirm that the public key belongs to the specific organization.



Introduction of DSC

In DSC procedure Sify is providing the DSC based on 3 Policiesp



Based on the Policy we will validate the customer DSC like


  • RCAI class 2 Individual 2 Years Signing 2014
  • RCAI class 2 Organization 1 Year Signing 2014

  • Based on ID Proofs we provide the DSC. They are:


  • PAN based
  • Aadhar based

    When a DSC customer calls help desk requesting DSC technical support with a concern of unable to use his/her

    Make a note of the below information

  • Above Captured information needs to be sent on email to respective Technical Point of Contact.
  • The helpdesk team needs to monitor the status of the given Incident for 4 hours till we get a reply from the Technical Point of Contact.
  • In case if the if the helpdesk doesn’t get a reply need to send email to Level-2 escalation
  • Despite Level-2 escalation if there is not logical response needs to send email to Level-3

    Below is the step-by-step procedure for the verification

    Step 1:
  • Take a confirmation from the customer that he/ she is calling from their registered mobile no or not
  • If YES
  • Check with that number in our ERA portal
  • If NO
  • Kindly inform to customer to call back us from their registered mobile no

  • Step 2:

    The details are reflecting in our portal

    Ask the below details and all the details should match with data available on ERA Portal
  • Customer name
  • Email id with spelling
  • PAN number
  • Date of Birth

  • If the details are matching; Tell customer Verification process completed and he will receive confirmation message in 1 Hour


    If the details are not matching; We directly reject that application and customer need to re upload that video


    If details are not reflecting in our portal follow the step 3


    Step 3:

    Check with customer signer id and with pan number


    Even after Step-3 Details are not reflecting; Ask the below questions to the Customer



    Question 1:
  • Required detail 1: Have you upload your KYC documents correctly?
  • Required detail 2: Have you completed your video verification?
  • If customer says no, request you to complete the video verification first, after completion of video verification you can call for phone verification

  • Question 2:
  • Have you completed your video verification?
  • If customer says Yes, kindly confirm after completion of video verification; have you receive any text message to your registered mobile number?
  • If customer says No, request to customer to contact the agent / CA who applied for your certificate and check the video verification status what it was reflecting in his server, after checking the status call us back for phone verification
  • Kindly confirm after completion of video verification have you receive any text message to your registered mobile number
  • If customer says Yes, kindly inform the customer to forward that text message to one of the provided number. By forwarding that text message your phone verification automatically completed and within 1 hour. You will receive confirmation message back to your registered mobile number

  • Check with customer mobile number in our portal is the verification is completed or not
  • If the details are reflecting
  • Inform to customer the verification is not completed and check that details and approve that video
  • If the details are not reflecting
  • Ask the customer to check his account is in active state or pending state
  • If the account is in active state
  • Is he receive a confirmation message from sify or not
  • If YES
  • Inform to customer to contact who provide the enrolment link for the DSC
  • If NO
  • Request to customer to contact the agent / CA who applied for your certificate
  • If the account is in pending state, request to customer to contact the agent / CA who applied for your certificate

    Work around Solution: Inform to customer to check whether he/she received any confirmation mail/message From Sify or Not
  • If yes: Kindly check the mail/message to see that there is a link available. Go through that link and download the DSC.
  • If No: Kindly Go through the section "Customer is getting error while uploading the DSC certificate."
